Trying to learn about triggers.
« on: 08 Sep 2014, 17:52 »
Hi - I want to do some modifications to the  "green up either way" trigger.
I want the trigger to become active 5 minutes before the off and trade on the favourite at that time. I can specify 5 minutes in the "My Markets" tab but how do I specify Favourite in the trigger - can I add it as a constant at the beginning or do I have to add it to each block. Also how do I ensure the trigger stays with the originally selected favourite if the favourite changes before the off.
Please excuse me if this is a stupid question - I am trying to learn  ???

Hi
Welcome to the forum. Your questions are good questions!

Just confirming you are talking about this trigger: http://marketfeeder.co.uk/solutions/green-up-hedge/either-direction-greenup/

If you refer to the attached screenshot you will see a constant: minutes before the off to start betting. If you change the value from 15 to whatever minutes you want and save and reload the trigger file, that takes care of your first question.

The trigger is already pre-programmed to trade just the favourite. You will see I have highlighted this in the initial bets trigger.

The rest of the triggers in the file will operate only on the selection initially bet on, so you should have nothing further to change.

Hope you will enjoy working with the triggers.

Thank you Mark - yes that is the trigger and thanks for the answers.

To try and get to grips with triggers I am making some of the existing ones do different things and then watching to see if the changes I make result in the actions I expected.

Having a lot of fun with it.
