  • Hi all,

    I'm looking for a suitable UK Windows VPS to run MFP on. I don't want the web server running or any other services running and using up CPU power.

    If possible I want:

    • the cheapest one possible (lower than £10pm)
    • hosted in the UK
    • enough bandwidth to run MFP 24/7 (within the Betfair usage limits!)
    • remote desktop to edit the triggers and check progress
    • monthly payments, so I can stop when I want to/if I want to

    512MB = £5.67pm
    1GB = £10.37pm

    I know MFP needs 512MB to run, but is an extra 512MB for double the cost worth it, if MFP is the only thing running?

    Does anyone know if Thrust VPS is good, or can anyone suggest another good cheap VPS? (I know VPS is mentioned on this forum but nobody actually gives a post with a package on it.)

    Also I assume MFP will work on Windows 2008?

  • I am yet to see a usable (MFP) lower than +-15 pounds.

    disk space and bandwidth will never be an issue on the vps.

    Take 1Gb ram, though personally I would recommend 1.5Gb as a minimum (Windows can use up to 1Gb) and the potential for stability issues is high.

    RDP will work on a windows VPS.

  • Thrust VPS is good platform - we are using their service.
    Windows 2003 needs less resources and would be enough for MF pro.
    512 Mb is OK if you don't use Excel.

  • Yes, but 1 Gb RAM is the minimum.

    I don't know much about vps, but can you run more than one copy of MFP, ie with more than one Betfair account in the vps simultaneously ?

    I know this may sound a silly question to you, but do you run two copies of MFP (with different Betfair accounts) in the same location or separate location. Many thanks!

  • The program installation should be one but you have to create a separate profile from the login window.
