Last Book Percentage
« on: 01 Mar 2016, 19:51 »
Hi Oxa
When in play a runner has no price then lay percentage disappears. Would be much better just to ignore lack of price of a runner and provide the book value for those runners left racing that have a price.
Regards
Ed

The lay percentage is currently a good indicator of a well formed market...a lay book of 95% or over means the market is well populated with back and lay prices. Its extremely useful for knowing that the prices currently offered are realistic and it helps stop your trigger betting on spurious prices that can happen when markets are reforming after a price shock like a goal in football or a horse being withdrawn. If the formula to calculate it was changed then this useful function of this parameter would be lost.

Hi eeldergill
can do that with a simple trigger:

set user variable, value: match_l_book
all matching selections
repeat: as fast as you need
condition: selections lay price is greater than 0

this will update a user variable with the market lay book % of all selections with a lay price.

Thanks, Mark, for taking the time to reply. That's very useful. I think it would be helpful also if we could see the percentage in play as I frequently have my finger hovering over the trigger but need to see at a glance whether the lay book percentage is close to 100%.

Hi
Yes you can see the variable live and in-play. There were no in-play races to show this so I used an in-play Correct Score market.
The trigger above is running and updating a user variable called "laybook".
I opened the User Variables window as shown with the arrow and popped in the variable name. You can see it shows the lay book %

Another way to display it is to switch to Engineer Mode screen and put the variable name in one of the cells. It shows the market lay book % next to each selection.

By the way, you can see the last two selections do not have a lay price, and the figure displayed is the lay book % of all selections with a lay price.
