  • Hi
The problem was that you removed the maximum liability constant, but the condition referring to the constant was still active.

I have put the constant back in again, and you can adjust the constant value to suit your need. For example, in the attached file I have set the max liability to 1000.

I have tested the trigger again, and it looks OK. Please remember, it will recoup the first loss only over x consecutive steps. In other words, there must be x consecutive wins before the cycle resets to initial bet size, otherwise it will recoup at rate of 1st loss divided by x until x consecutive wins.

Please use test mode (especially with a high max liability set).
    edited trigger file attached.

  • Hi MarkV,

    Hope you're well.

I have a further favour to ask with this trigger file if you'd be so kind?

    I was hoping that you'd be able to change the selections so that the trigger places a lay bet for each of these;
    favourite - win market
    second favourite - win market
    favourite - place market
    second favourite - place market

    hopefully this is straightforward in the triggering. when it comes to recouping loss that occurs in any event (ie both the win and place markets), i was hoping to;

distribute the loss equally over the next four races
distribute the loss equally over the four selections that are triggered in the upcoming races.

so essentially, the loss would be divided into 16 where one instance of a loss happens in the recovery cycle.

if we do hit a loss in the recovery cycle, i am assuming that the trigger will continue to lay at the recoup stake (rather than the flat initial bet stake) until we get four consecutive markets that win.

any questions please let me know
    thanks!

  • Hi
In the original trigger the 1st loss only was recouped over 4 consecutive wins, ignoring any further losses incurred during the recoupment cycle.
Do you want to do the same here, or do you want to recoup cumulative losses?

  • hi

yes - could we recoup cumulative losses please?
    thanks!

  • Hi
I'm sorry, but I don't think what you ask is possible to do. The reason is the same as in Reply 13 in this topic. I have spent some more time today looking at it, but have not been able to come up with something that works. Below is a brief explanation.

Because the lay bets are in 2x different markets (win and place), the statement and win/lose history variables cannot be linked to those specific markets. We can only identify the last settled market overall, or the second last settled market etc.

Now if for whatever reason, Betfair settle a win market, but there is a delay on the settlement of the place market, the win/lose variables are no longer accurate, and the loss recoupment will not work correctly.

Add to that, if the next event’s two markets are settled before the previously delayed market is settled, the win/lose variables become a real mess.

Ideally, what is needed is the market_id to be included in the statement entries and relating win/lose variables. Hopefully we will get this in a future update.

Sorry I could not help you on this at the moment.

  • Hi

Ah ok - sorry for making you go over old ground.

In which case, would it be possible to get one trigger file for each market?

    For example:

    Win market trigger-

Trigger bets for 2 selections per race, when in a recoup stage spread the loss across the next 4 races, equally distributed across the two selections in each race?

An then the same with the place market?

    Does that sound ok?
    Thanks again

  • Hi
I looked at that today, and it won't work for the same reason. The variables for the last settled market cannot be linked to a specific market
    For example:
Win Market Place Market       Win/Lose variables
    Win        Win                Win (correct)
    Lose       Win                Win (incorrect)
    Win        Lose               Lose(incorrect)
    Win        settlement delay   ??
    etc.

If you were betting in only one market type e.g. Win:
    Win Market Win/Lose variables
    Win        Win (correct)
    Lose       Lose(correct)
    Win        Win (correct)
    etc.

  • Hi
Here is a trigger for the win market for you to try, it's the one I was working on earlier.
It is an edited version of the one posted before.
    Please use test mode.

I'll post the place one in a moment.

  • Hi MarkV

I ran the Win Market trigger file today and it only triggered for 5 races.

    race 1 - win
    race 2 - lose
race 3 - recoup bet was laid / win
race 4 - recoup bet was laid / win
race 5 - recoup bet was laid / this one lost

and then there were no more bets placed after this. MFPro was still up and running throughout the day so doesn't seem to be an issue with connecting with BF...

would you be able to take a look at it? I'll run it again tomorrow to see if it does the same again...

    cheers

  • Hi
    OK, will do.
  • #29 by MarkV on 13 Dec 2013
  • Hi
It looks like it is working OK.
It will stop betting on either or both selections if the maximum liability amount which is set in the constant is reached.

  • Hi

Just tried it again and it has stopped working. I upped the max liability to 1000 and lowered stake to £2.

    here's how it panned out

    race 1 - win
    race 2 - lose
    race 3 - recoup bet / lose
race 4 - recoup bet (increased to cover loss in race 3) / win
    race 5 - recoup bet / win
    race 6 - recoup bet / win
    race 7 - recoup bet / lose

    and then it stopped running.

connection to MF Pro is fine. would you be able to have another look?

    cheers!
