  • Sorry McBee, I always forget to put the trigger requests here.

I have been using the trigger file as detailed in this thread:
    http://community.welldonesoft.com/triggered-betting-10/trigger-required/msg33760/?PHPSESSID=fjcfum3tvmi1tjgljs4cppteu4#new

And I'd like an amendment to it as detailed below:

    thanks

    Here is what's needed:

3rd trigger to place a back bet. Back bet to be placed only if the 'greening up' back trigger has not fired.

The aim will be to distribute the loss as the selection's price has been driven straight down and not drifted up by a few ticks allowing for the green up.

Some constants should also be applied to this trigger, so that it only fires under certain conditions. With these in place anyone should be able to customise to suit their style. Here are the constants and some suggested values that they could operate under:
Minutes since the actual off (since the market turned inplay): 0.5+
Minutes since first lay bet had been placed: less than 5
    Back odds of selection: 1.5
Back odds of selection: x amount of ticks lower than BSP.

  • Hello!

    Apologies for the delay!

Please see your amended triggers attached. All new constants have been added, but these were somewhat unclear/contradictory:

    Back odds of selection: 1.5
Back odds of selection: x amount of ticks lower than BSP.

I understood that it should read "The selection's back price should be equal or below 1.5, and at the same time it should be X ticks lower than BSP". If it is not the case, let me know.

Please try in Test Mode first.

  • Hi Oxa thanks for this. At the very same time you were writing I had another thought on this trigger.

It would probably be best of the second 'distributing loss' back bet could also be triggered at x number of ticks as well as having the option of a certain price point

Would you be able to add this in?
    Thanks!

  • Hi
I have tried this and the optional back bet is not being placed - would you be able to check this out?
seems to be functioning as it did with the previous file...
    thanks

  • Hi - can someone let me know when this trigger will be looked at? Would be great to have it ready for testing at the weekend...
    Cheers

  • Do you have records of profitability for this strategy?  I ran it on test and it seemed to perform quite well.   I could look at the problem you have, if you could give some feedback on the strategy's long term performance.

  • Hi Rubold,
I don't have enough records to make it statistically viable as yet.
What I do know is that your bank can be eliminated in one days racing if you don't have some stop loss mech in there. Which is why I'm looking to get the trigger edited with a third conditional trigger

Once done I suppose it's back to the age old question of risk tolerance. Ill be testing:
    Rank of selection
Number of / price of runners to trade
    Time since off
    Length of course
The spread of entry and exit points

The system will most likely favour some courses as well... But as of yet I'm not sure!

Please attach the log files for the trigger that does not work as you expect it to.

  • Hello,

You attached the log file for the laying trigger, not the trigger that places the back bet. Choose the right trigger name from the drop-down list in the top-right corner of the log browser.

  • No probs - what I have done here is taken the trigger file from one event where it should've kicked in.

the selection is Moscato and the horse started at around 1.5 and gradually reduced throughout the race.

It may be that I have some of the settings wrong, rather than there being an issue with the trigger itself?

Hopefully this gives you what you need - if not let me know.
    cheers!

  • Hi Again,
I've had a play around with this and it seems that I have it working - I had to extend the time since off to up to 10 minutes and the back trigger fired where required.
Will keep testing and let you know if anything else comes up - but I'm sure you've got enough on your hands with the upgrade at the moment!
    thanks

  • I agree, this is nothing really major but if given the chance, would be nice to get this taken cared off too.
