  • hi tim
could you tell me why i am only getting 1 result with some greyhound place markets.
this happens quit a few times a day, normal race no deadheat etc.
when this happens i check the rss feed results next to the my markets and it gives the full result for the meeting, 2 places and the winner.
i switched from win markets to place markets because if there is a deadheat there is no results given in the win market but the place market is still 2 places.

  • Hmmm, is it still wrong?
I've been testing today and it works fine as I see...

  • hi
it just happened in the crayford 17:56 result.
    only 1 result
but this time i checked the rss feed results and they put under/over 3,5 goals as the second winner.
then after a min or so they changed it to crossfield jane, so it looks like a problem with the results input person.

It must be the same man who suspends the markets without good cause :)

  • hi tim
is there any way that you could add a third party for greyhound results please.
i have custom bots that use http://www.gbgb.org.uk/  for quick results.
because betfair is making so many mistakes, i am having to sit and whatch the results for nearly 12 hours a day, then when they make a mistake i have to manualy alter my variables, this is not what a bot is designed for.

    thanks

  • ouch! 12 hour shift!

  • The main problem with third party sources is that they don't have the BetFair selection's id. So you have to match them against the name. But names are different on different sources (talking about soccer for example, greyhound is easier). So I'm not sure there will be less errors in that case. We are looking forward to new BetFair API that coming soon and they promise it'll have the results.

  • hi tim
the rss results feed (recent event's outcome) next to my markets has mistakes with the result names, BUT it has the correct trap numbers for the forcast result.
is there any way to have a trigger or excel to use this information.

    thanks

  • mcbee,

May be with "Settle market" trigger action having "Winners determined by trigger" and other trigger selecting the winners from the other market?

  • Hi mcbee
You mentioned Excel. I was wondering if you have tried a web query.

Data > Get external data from web > New web query
    Address: rss.betfair.com
    Select Greyhounds on left
    Click RSS Feed
Select full URL and click Import

When the data is in, delete the columns you don’t need.

Refresh data CTRL ALT F5. I’m sure this could be automated using a macro or VBA.

ps I can see the mistakes you are talking about in the results!

  • hi all
thanks for the replies and ideas.
but i have altered my triigers to take the result from the forcast market, as this seems to be more correct.
BUT , i am now having problems with one of my triggers
    the condition is
and previous events status is not settled
for some reason it keeps activating when the previous market is settled.
TIM could you check to see if there is a problem with the coding for this condition.

    thanks again

  • hi
i have got around the problem by using
AND NOT previous events status is settled.

so it looks like there is a coding problem with the previous events not settled.
