Triggered betting / recorded highest balance and placing bets based on this

Hey,

I'm trying to increase or reset stakes based on what my highest recorded balance is. So if I start with £200 at £1 stakes. If my new balance after a bet is higher than the highest recorded balance then my stake will reset to £1. If my balance is decreasing, the stake is increased by £1 and then reset when the new balance is higher than the recorded balance.

I've managed to set it up so that it records the highest balance when I start the program (either current balance or a manual balance adjustment which I can enter in case the program resets) and I can record the highest balance after a win by using the initial balance amount and IF(current balance>highest balance, current balance, highest balance) but the problem comes after this because I need it to keep taking the new highest balance but not sure how to do this without making tons of variables for highest balance (max_bal1, max_bal2, max_bal3... so on) and then a long winded IF statement for increasing the stake. Any ideas on how I can record the highest balance and then if the highest balance is greater than the previous highest balance, stake = £1, if not then stake = previous stake + £1?? Also another thought.

From looking at the trigger log you posted, the trigger is running for hours until it finds a selection with an imported value, and then it triggers. So I guess the text file is being automatically re-imported?

But the trigger is designed to execute once per market on all qualifying selections after a single import of the file. If this is the case then the trigger will need to be modified to handle automated re-imports.

Formatting in your file looks fine.
I added some selections in the same format to the file and tried an import. No selections would import.
I removed the underscore at the start of the file name and tried again. Import works fine and trigger executes properly on qualifying selections.

I've had a try testing this trigger and have not had any problems. The only way I can replicate the issue is if there is more than one tab character before the value to be imported. In this case the value of imported_1 is not greater than 0 and no bet is triggered for those imported selections with more than 1 tab character. Perhaps just check the formatting of your text file to make sure there is only 1 tab between selection name and the value.

You can also check the stats on the message after importing to see if the numbers match. As there is only one value per selection, the message should say the number of selections imported and that should match the number of values imported. If there is a difference then there is probably a fault in the text file.

The way to do this is to add a constant and change "start with initial value" to "remember last value". Then use a trigger to set a user variable with the same name as the constant. It will retain the last value when MFP is shut down.

I understand you can import values associated with a selection by importing selections for autotrading, but I still cannot see how I can load a value from a text file when it is not related to a selection name

Eg. Save an account balance on a certain day using the 'write to a file'  trigger action, then use another action to recall this same value on another day. I know you can remember this value using the 'set user variable' action or the 'remember' action but none of these can be recalled if marketfeeder stops and is reloaded

It is better to put a trigger request in to ask for the exact changes you want. But I will suggest a few things you can try:

• mins1 constant set to -0.16. this is 10 secs after the off
• mins2 constant. you need to decide how long to compare volume increase from remembering volume to placing a bet. for example if you want to wait 30 secs after volumes are remembered to find the max volume increase then mins2 constant should be -0.64
• the backing trigger sends a "back at SP" bet. this can only work before the off. so the trigger action needs to be changed to "back"

Yes can read a value from a text file.
for example:
selections index is in file
see comparison operator in helpfile for description

If you have specific values for each selection the values can be imported
see importing selections for autotrading in the helpfile
an example is in Item 5 here.

Basically Betfair doesnt allow the recording of that information as it breaches the API agreement that they have in place.
